Transforming Lives
Giving back with every step forwardAt HRI, we believe that giving back to our community is both a duty and a privilege. Our various projects in the areas of nurturing talent, education, healthcare, skill development and civic responsibility are united by the singular desire to work towards a better tomorrow.
Our MD Manish Chhabra was the Key Speaker for the Mumbai Chapter of Mustardseed's Entrepreneur Social. He spoke about his journey as an Entrepreneur and shared his success mantra which every entrepreneur can follow in their entrepreneurial journey. He also shared his winning motto, "Data with gut", which has helped him in his journey. The event was attended by many budding entrepreneurs, business owners and other corporate professionals.
In the remembrance of our Chairman, Subash Nishat Ji, on his Birth Anniversary, HRIPL collaborated with the Training and Educational Centre for Hearing impaired (TEACH) Foundation, a charitable trust working towards higher education for hearing impaired students. The Foundation provides higher education & self-development for these children, to help them lead their lives independently & successfully by assisting in their personal, professional, and social development. The event was wonderful opportunity to interact with the students & give them some exposure to the corporate world.
“Aashayein” is a performance-based talent hunt organised for school students from socio-economically disadvantaged. HRI conducts this event as a part of a larger platform named ‘Cascade’, which is an annual cultural event of The Jamnabai Narsee School Alumni Association (JNAA).
The talent hunt gives the children an opportunity to showcase their skills in the fields of performing arts. Talented children are enabled to pursue their goals and build on their skills. All funds are kept in the Aashayein Welfare Fund, which aids underprivileged children, orphanages, old-age homes and NGOs.
At HRI, we believe that a good education provides a lifelong foundation for success, and we are invested in giving each child an equal opportunity for a brighter future. As part of our CSR initiative, we introduced the e-learning system for students of classes 5, 6 and 7 to ease the learning process for 150 students in village schools around Maharashtra.
We have also been a part of fee reimbursement programmes and drives to provide basic necessities such as textbooks, stationery, pullovers and hand sanitizers in schools around Mumbai.
As a part of social responsibility and employee welfare, we conduct regular blood donation, dental and medical check-up camps across our offices and factories.
We also provide financial assistance to employees with health problems.
At HRI, we believe that the betterment of society is a huge part of our social responsibility both at a larger socio-economic level and at a civic level. To convert that belief into action, we have executed multiple small social initiatives, such as organising Diwali celebrations, building community halls and washrooms, installing mirrors for road safety, providing financial assistance to Nepal earthquake victims and donating food in flood-affected areas.
India's rural population is relatively young, but the lack of education and emphasis on skill building results in a number of them being unemployed. As a part of building a better tomorrow, we at HRI conducted development training programmes in areas such as Vikramgarh Taluka, Palghar District, Maharashtra, where 90 per cent of the community is tribal and 30 per cent of the youth is unemployed. In association with the Global Success Foundation, the people of Vikramgarh Taluka were given the Electrician and Wireman course as well as an Industrial Sewing Machine Operator course.
We celebrated children's day with the students of the Government Senior Secondary School GSSS at Chanal Majra Kishanpura.
The HRI foundation organised data-entry operator training for 35 students from a remote village near Wada (Palghar Zilla) Maharashtra. This training enabled them to utilise the job opportunity and strengthening their livelihood.
At Hygienic Research Institute, we have always believed that performance means much more than just making promises. We turn our intentions into actions through our social initiative for children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
